Visions of Christmas

Just wanted to share a few images from Christmas day. I hope everybody had a joyous holiday spent with family and friends. Hope you enjoy.

Santa's coming to town!

With Santa and the Mrs. On their way to Ponte Vedra this weekend to see all our local boys and girls at Sawgrass Village, it got me thinking about those reindeer. You know Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and of course Rudolf but what do you really know about reindeer? Well here are a few interesting facts.
· A reindeer can pull twice its weight for miles on end providing muscle power for the nomadic saami people.
· Their antlers are made up of the fastest growing tissue in the animal kingdom, growing up to an inch a day.
· Both male & female reindeer have antlers.
· Reindeer eat any vegetation found in the tundra; they have an amazing sense of smell allowing them to detect food beneath 3 feet of snow.
· Reindeer fur is also very insulating. It protects the deer from 80degrees below zero up to 115 degrees.
· Reindeer can swim faster than an Olympic swimmer at around 4 mph. Wow!
Well I’m not sure the reindeer will be making an appearance this weekend, they will probably be resting up for their big trip, but I hope you enjoyed a little reindeer fun – facts!

Brothers & All Boy!

Meet Noah & Zachary, these are two very engergetic boys whom I had a great time photographing recently. These portraits were taken at St Augustine beach just south of the pier.

Noah is 6 years old and loves baseball and cars. He loves to go to the beach, swim, and play outside with his friends.

Zachary is 5 years old and loves both football and baseball. He's the "lady's man" of the duo with a new girlfriend everyweek (too cute!). He is very active and loves to be outside playing or swimming.

I had such great fun with them and am very glad I was able to capture a moment in these young boys lives , a moment to be cherished!

Ivy & Ryan

Last Saturday I photographed this mother daughter duo, we did both studio and outdoor portraits with outfit changes. Even though Ryan was not feeling well she did great and we all had a great time.

Just a Note

I am truly in the middle of the rush of the holiday season - so that is why it has been so long since I've updated my blog :( But I promise to get better about it and to continue to share whats happening at Firefly.
It has been quite busy this last month, Operation Tuscany was a success, I am looking forward to phase II (I will explain more of that later). The KidtKid sale went great - Thank You for all of you who came out and saw me, we gave away several portrait sessions so congratulations to those who won.
With Thanksgiving just a litter over a week away I am quite confident things will be even crazier than it has been but I do promise to keep things updated!! So keep checking back and leave me a comment!

First Coast Heart Walk

Today I donated my time to the First Coast Heart Walk. The 3-mile walk took the participants through Metropolitan Park, the Coliseum, Baseball grounds of Jacksonville, and Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. It was a beautiful day and they had a great turn out and hopefully raised lots of money for the American Heart Association.
In case you didn’t know the American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases devastate millions of people of all ages and kill more than 910,000 Americans each year. To fight cardiovascular diseases, the association supports research, education and advocacy and helps heart disease and stroke patients. Millions of volunteers and supporters all across America help fight heart disease and stroke and make it possible for all people to live longer, better lives.

Star-Fishy!

This is Allison and her starfish - she is so adorable! We recently did this photo shoot at Micklers Landing in Ponte Vedra. Allison is 3 yrs old and recently started pre-school, we did these portraits just before school started - What a great way to end the summer!

Joni & Jeff

I had the privilege to be a part of Joni & Jeff's special day. Their wedding was absolutely beautiful, they were married at Lakewood United Methodist Church Flowers decorated the church and were carried by the wedding party. They were beautifully designed and arranged by DeVales Floral in Jacksonville Beach. Joni's bouquet was very ethereal and elegant. The celebration continued to the reception that was held at the Deerwood Country Club in Jacksonville. Joni & Jeff, wedding party, family and friends danced the night away listening to the Mystery Band . One special and unique touch Joni added to the reception was the serving of Krispy Kreme Donuts that were butlered around to all the guests at the very end of the evening.

All around it was a wonderful day and I am very blessed to have been part of it.

Labor Day

Hope everybody had a safe and happy Labor Day! I spent part of the weekend at my family's lake house at Ocean Pond. It was great to relax and let the dogs play and swim. But like all great things it had to come to an end. Back to work today...

It's Finally Here!

It's finally here - MY BLOG! I felt it was time to add an additional connection between my friends, family, and clients so everyone knows what I'm up too.
